Düsseldorf, 23 March 2006 - Triple Alpha Luftfahrt, a private business charter carrier based at Düsseldorf International Airport, has just added a Citation C525 to its fleet. Capable of carrying five passengers and two pilots, this executive jet will primarily serve destinations in France and Germany. Registered in France under registration number F-HAOA, the CitationJet is based at Paris Le Bourget.
With a cruising speed of approximately 370 knots per hour and a cruising altitude of between 33.000 and 41.000 feet, the CitationJet can reach destinations all over Europe quickly and reliably. Requiring a 4100-feet-long runway, it can also serve many smaller regional airports in remote areas or close to cities. This way, transfers are kept to a minimum and tedious changing and delays are eliminated. With a range of around 1150 NM, the CitationJet can reach any airport in Europe or North Africa. Business travellers in particular will find this well-equipped jet an attractive option.
“The new Citation expands our capacity and will help us achieve greater international growth”, declares Hans Pfeiffer, Flight Ops and General Manager of Triple Alpha, explaining the rationale behind the new French-registered jet. In making this move, the Düsseldorf-based jet charter service is entering new terrain: according to Pfeiffer, this is the first time Germany’s Federal Aeronautics Agency has authorized a French-registered business jet to operate in Germany. For the German and French civil aviation authorities alike, this cross-border project represents a breakthrough in European
cooperation in civil aviation. “For both sides, this has been a new experience and, for us, an important learning process, since the authorization procedures and conditions imposed in France and Germany are very different”, notes Hans Pfeiffer, having overcome numerous national bureaucratic obstacles.
In future, too, Triple Alpha plans to use this leasing model in order to keep expanding its fleet. “Apart from France, we’ll be present in strategically important markets like the UK and Russia. In particular, we’ll be responding to rising demand in eastern Europe”, explains Pfeiffer, outlining his company’s strategy for expansion. Despite Europe’s generally sluggish economy, the business charter market continues to expand, primarily benefiting from the eastward enlargement of the European Union.
